Shorter Throw, Less Play, Stiffer Feel:

Refining your Civic or Integra's shifting system is a great way to add a sporty feel that will put a smile on your face every time you go for a drive. The ACUITY Short Throw Adapter for the 11th Gen Honda Civic and 5th Gen Acura Integra can be appreciated as much during street driving as at the track. This Short Throw Adapter reduces the mechanical advantage of the shift lever to deliver 20% shorter gear throws. 300 series stainless steel construction makes these Short Throw Adapters strong and highly corrosion resistant. Acuity's unique clamping design ensures the adapter will stay fastened, even with a modest amount of torque. 

By reducing the throw at the shifter, you are effectively reducing the play in the shifter cables by the same amount you are reducing the throw. When the throw is reduced at the transmission, the play from the cables remains the same while the throw is reduced. This is the primary motivation for Acuity's choice to design short throw adapters that affix to the shifter rather than the transmission.

To get the most refined experience from your OEM shifter, we recommend pairing this Short Throw Adapter with the ACUiTY Shifter Base Bushings (SKU 1914), ACUiTY Shifter Cable Bushings (SKU 1881), ACUiTY Shifter Centering Spring Upgrade (SKU 1988), and the ACUiTY Shifter Rocker Upgrade (SKU 1987).

Each kit includes an alcohol wipe so that the shift lever can be cleaned before installation. No grease is required when installing this product as the included PTFE pivot cap is self-lubricating. 7.5mm (0.3") thick spacers are also included to raise the height of the shifter slightly to help the short throw adapter clear the frame the shifter mounts to, and the included self-retaining washers help to keep the spacers in place during installation. Do not install the Short Throw Adapter without also installing these spacers, as omitting the spacers may result in interference between the moving parts of the shifter and the cast aluminum bracket the shifter mounts to.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Expect shifts to feel around 20% shorter and a bit more crisp. You may also notice that the shifter's longitudinal (forward or backward) motion has a bit less play.

How fast is shipping?

Most orders placed on a weekday before 1pm EST will ship out the same day. Otherwise, it is common for parts to ship in 2-3 days from order date. Please note that both of these exclude special order items, which are clearly marked on product pages.

What is the returns policy?

Most products sold by Axion Industries LLC are covered by our Standard Return Policy and may be returned within 30 days of the original invoice date for a refund. Please note that a restocking fee will apply (see "Refunds Policy" in FAQ).

All returns require written approval from Axion Industries LLC. Original Shipping and return shipping charges are strictly non-refundable. For more information regarding our shipping refund policy, please refer to the "Refunds Policy" on FAQ.

Does it come with a warranty?

Axion Industries LLC does not offer any type of warranty coverage for defective products except those that are manufactured by us. However, the majority of the products available through our website are covered separately under a manufacturer's warranty.

What happens if I want to cancel?

Unfulfilled, cancelled orders will require a 10%-30% cancellation fee unless you choose store credit (a 5%-15% cancellation fee will apply in this case). This fee is to:

  1. Recover the processing fees for both the order you placed and the order
    you canceled.
  2. Cancellation fees imposed by the manufacturer, should the part be coming
    straight from them. OR
  3. Restocking fees, since the part now has to be resold.

The following may NOT be canceled:

  • Orders that are already fulfilled – the Returns Policy will apply.
  • Pre-orders - the Returns Policy will apply.
  • Special Order items that were approved for sourcing by the customer.
  • Items that are on sale and labeled "final sale" during that sale period.
