It’s no secret that Honda’s 1.5L turbo Civic is extremely susceptible to heat-soak, especially when retaining the factory intercooler. Excessive heat-soak increases the risk of detonation and causes major power-loss due to high charge air and cylinder temperatures. These issues become even more prevalent with spirited driving and/or increased power outputs. The PRL Motorsports intercooler upgrade decreases charge air temperatures while increasing potential airflow with its dense 550+ hp-rated (though we have pushed 600+) 25.6x4x6.3” bar-and-plate bar-and-plate core and machined billet aluminum end tanks!

This intercooler utilizes factory mounting spots with our embossed end tanks.

Installation notes: Removal of the lower factory intake air box damper is recommended for optimal fitment.  It fits factory charge piping or can be paired with our charge pipe upgrade kit for optimal performance.   

NOTE: THERE ARE (2) TOTAL O-RINGS IN THE FACTORY CHARGE PIPE SYSTEM. O-RINGS MAY BE SUBJECT TO REPLACEMENT IF TORN, DRY-ROTTED, DISFORMED OR HIGH MILEAGE 

Stencil instructions: If you plan to utilize the provided stencil to represent PRL on your intercooler:

  1. Clean and make sure your intercooler is dry.
  2. Place the cardboard stencil onto the front of the intercooler (Make sure the intercooler is not upside down, the PRL logo is on the driver's side end tank).
  3. It is recommended to tape down the stencil to have a sharp logo and to avoid moving.
  4. Mask off or cover the end tanks to avoid overspray.
  5. Apply a high temp engine enamel style spray paint (we recommend Duplicolor DE1635 Ford Semi-Gloss Black, any color can be used).
  6. Multiple coats may be needed to have full coverage, this varies per color.
  7. Allow to dry 30-60 minutes before installing the intercooler.
  8. If any mistakes are made, such as runs/overspray, acetone or paint thinner can be used to remove any unwanted paint or to remove the stencil entirely, though this will take some time.
  9. Keep the stencil handy and in a safe spot without bending if you would like to refresh your intercooler after years of road debris blasting it!

How fast is shipping?

Most orders placed on a weekday before 1pm EST will ship out the same day. Otherwise, it is common for parts to ship in 2-3 days from order date. Please note that both of these exclude special order items, which are clearly marked on product pages.

What is the returns policy?

Most products sold by Axion Industries LLC are covered by our Standard Return Policy and may be returned within 30 days of the original invoice date for a refund. Please note that a restocking fee will apply (see "Refunds Policy" in FAQ).

All returns require written approval from Axion Industries LLC. Original Shipping and return shipping charges are strictly non-refundable. For more information regarding our shipping refund policy, please refer to the "Refunds Policy" on FAQ.

Does it come with a warranty?

Axion Industries LLC does not offer any type of warranty coverage for defective products except those that are manufactured by us. However, the majority of the products available through our website are covered separately under a manufacturer's warranty.

Our customer service representatives can provide limited support, advice, and assistance identifying the possibility of any manufacturer defects. If we suspect your product does have serious defects, our customer service department can serve as a contact with the manufacturer to help arrange a warranty inspection and, if applicable, any necessary repairs or replacement shipments.

If you wish, you may also contact the manufacturer directly for information regarding product eligibility and specific terms and conditions of warranty coverage.

What happens if I want to cancel?

Unfulfilled, cancelled orders will require a 10%-30% cancellation fee unless you choose store credit (a 5%-15% cancellation fee will apply in this case). This fee is to:

  1. Recover the processing fees for both the order you placed and the order
    you canceled.
  2. Cancellation fees imposed by the manufacturer, should the part be coming
    straight from them. OR
  3. Restocking fees, since the part now has to be resold.

The following may NOT be canceled:

  • Orders that are already fulfilled – the Returns Policy will apply.
  • Pre-orders - the Returns Policy will apply.
  • Special Order items that were approved for sourcing by the customer.
  • Items that are on sale and labeled "final sale" during that sale period.
