Crafted from 100% pre-preg carbon fiber without the inclusion of fiberglass, Eventuri ensures each component of the FL5 Carbon Turbo Tube is engineered with precision for a distinct purpose and fabricated to the highest standards. This commitment to quality allows for a smoother internal surface, facilitating smoother airflow throughout. Drawing inspiration from the design principles of their FK8 tube, Eventuri has meticulously developed the FL5 version, maintaining their trademark dedication to performance and quality.

3 KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Volume: Eventuri’s inlet diameters are meticulously designed, starting at 78mm at the intake end and expanding to 88mm. In contrast, the OEM tube begins at 76.5mm and maintains this diameter before narrowing at the turbo inlet. This design choice by Eventuri results in an increase in cross-sectional area of over 32% at its widest point. While the OEM FL5 tube may not limit the turbo at stock boost levels, Eventuri anticipates that their larger tube will offer advantages at higher boost levels, where the demand for airflow is greater.
  • Flow Quality: A large internal volume alone does not guarantee optimal performance unless the flow path facilitates smooth airflow to the turbo. Eventuri utilizes high-temperature Prepreg Carbon Fiber to ensure a smooth internal surface, setting it apart from the stock inlet tube, which is typically made from cast aluminum and often has a rough internal surface. This strategic choice, combined with the smooth curvature of the elbow in Eventuri’s design, results in a flow path that significantly minimizes turbulence, enhancing overall airflow efficiency.
  • Temperature: The ultimate goal for Eventuri was to reduce the conduction of heat into the airflow as much as possible. The standard inlet system, which connects directly to the turbo, conducts heat into the airflow as soon as the turbo begins to spool. To address this, Eventuri’s solution includes a machined flange that attaches to the turbo, followed by a silicon coupler equipped with an integrated thermal spacer. This design prevents the carbon elbow from making direct contact with the turbo. The incorporation of this barrier, along with the inherently low thermal conductivity of carbon fiber through its thickness, ensures that less heat is transferred to the airflow, optimizing performance.

  • Eventuri has meticulously crafted the Turbo Tube from Prepreg Carbon Fiber, featuring a one-piece design that ensures a seamless flow path to the turbo. The tube boasts an inlet diameter that starts at 78mm internally, expanding to 88mm across the main body, before gracefully tapering down to the turbo inlet flange. This design contrasts sharply with the stock turbo tube, which maintains an internal diameter of 76.5mm throughout the main body before tapering to the turbo. The significant difference in dimensions results in an increase in cross-sectional area of over 32% at its widest point. Moreover, being constructed from Carbon Fiber, Eventuri’s Turbo Tube is markedly lighter and exhibits lower thermal conductivity across its wall thickness compared to the stock cast aluminum tube, enhancing performance and efficiency.

CUSTOM SILICON COUPLER & FLANGE

  • Eventuri’s turbo coupler features a silicon spacer ring that effectively separates the carbon tube from the metal turbo flange, serving as a thermal barrier. This design significantly reduces the conduction of heat from the hot turbo flange to the carbon tube. The flange itself is precision CNC machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and is anodized for durability. This ensures a flawless fitment and seal with the stock turbo, exemplifying Eventuri’s commitment to high-quality engineering and performance enhancement.
