How does it work?
Oil Containment: Extensive use can lead to substantial oil venting from the crankcase. The PCV system of your engine redirects this excess oil into the intake for combustion. Yet, this can adulterate fuel and decrease octane levels. The J&L V3.0 clear Oil Separator intercepts the oil vapors from the crankcase vent and contains them for periodic, safe disposal. This separator ensures pristine fuel quality, optimizing your F-150's performance.
V3.0 Upgrades: J&L has enhanced the design of their previous Oil Separator, launching the revamped Version 3.0. Notably, this version boasts an enlarged 3 oz. capacity—almost double its predecessor. Additionally, while the older models employed a Ford Motorcraft pre-filter, the V3.0 utilizes a 1/2" thick 1/16th" aluminum honeycomb filter paired with a mesh stainless steel screen. This combination captures finer oil vapors, shielding your engine from potential residue.

A rubber o-ring ensures a snug, leak-proof seal, and its knurled base makes for effortless removal during regular oil maintenance. Simplified Installation: J&L's Separator promises a hassle-free setup, achievable in less than 30 minutes with standard tools. Pre-attached stock-style quick-disconnect fittings on the provided PCV silicone hoses make the Catch Can a seamless upgrade. All necessary brackets and hardware are in the package, eliminating the need for any alterations.
Certification Note: Currently, this J&L Oil Separator isn't CARB certified. Hence, it isn't approved in California or states that adopt California's emission guidelines. It's designed for off-road applications and isn't fit for pollution-controlled vehicles.
