Important note about ACUiTY's Splatter Titanium finish: Because the splatter finish on this product is applied by hand and in a random fashion, the size, location, and distribution of drip and splatter patterns will vary from part to part. The part you order will have blue, purple, and gold colors almost identical to the colors shown in these images, but the exact splatter pattern will naturally vary. Acuity does not permit returns on the basis of the splatter pattern not perfectly matching the product photos on our website.
Brains and Beauty
ACUiTY's POCO-Ti is more than a beautifully finished titanium knob...it can actually reduce your shift throw. While most knobs sit around 25mm (1 inch) or higher above the top of the actual shift lever, the POCO-Ti sits only 3-4mm above the top of the shift lever, leading to 5-10% shorter throws when compared to non-countersunk knobs. The POCO-Ti is one of the most well-integrated countersunk knobs available, with its built-in shift boot collar that easily clips into the knob for that perfect finished appearance.
Materials and Finish
The POCO-Ti builds on its popular aluminum predecessor by combining a splatter finish titanium outer shell with a stainless steel core to deliver a beautiful, weighted knob that will feel less hot or cold in extreme temperatures while delivering a more tactile shift feel. While an insulated knob is the most forgiving in harsh climates, titanium is more forgiving than aluminum and is heavier than an equivalent aluminum or insulated knob.
This version of the POCO-Ti features a hand-brushed, burnt blue finish with handcrafted purple and gold splatter accents. The shift boot collar is also titanium and features a burnt finish in blue. An elastomer ring in the knob provides the collar retention feature, similar to our very popular 1924 shift boot collars. All lettering is laser-etched for durability in a burnt gold color.
Integrated Boot Collar
The POCO-Ti's titanium boot collar is affixed to the shift boot using a low-profile cable tie (3 are supplied with each kit); the knob threads down on the shift lever until it stops. Once both parts are installed, the shift boot collar clips into the shift knob and installation is complete.
Care Instructions
Oil and dirt that accumulate on the outside of this product will temporarily reduce the vibrance of the colors in its burnt finish. If you find your titanium looking a little lackluster, use a microfiber cloth and some household rubbing alcohol to wipe the outer surfaces down. This will remove oil and dirt deposited on the outer surfaces and will restore the original beauty of the finish. Avoid use when your hands are excessively rough or when you have abrasive materials on your hands (like sand, dirt, etc), as this can prematurely wear down the splatter finish. Avoid use with rings or similar jewelry as it may scratch the finish. If the finish is ever damaged, ACUiTY may be able to refinish the knob at a lower cost than replacing it; contact us for details.
