With our billet MAF housing, full 3″ intake piping, and high performance dry media filter, we’re opening up the intake tract drastically for improved airflow to the engine. For our first test we performed a back to back test of the stock intake compared to our AMS WRX Air intake, with no changes to the factory ECU, resulting in a 15 WHP improvement over stock! Our second test showed an even more impressive 25 WHP improvement when comparing the stock intake and AMS Air Intake when both are flashed with a simple Cobb Stage 1 OTS Map for improved efficiency. The testing process involved removing and preparing both intake systems for evaluation on our state-of-the-art MAF-based flowbench system, where airflow rates were meticulously measured under controlled conditions. Utilizing a MoTeC dash and datalogger, we simulated real-world conditions and found that the OEM intake exhibited 1.8 psi of depression at 290 whp, while the AMS intake significantly improved flow rates, reaching nearly 400 whp at only 0.90 psi of depression. Further analysis showed the AMS intake could flow approximately 530 whp compared to the OEM’s 290 whp at the same pressure drop. Simply place the filter in a solution or spray the cleaner on the filter. Allow the solution to loosen the particulate and then rinse thoroughly.
